• Recently, Dr. Knox completed specialized training at Cochlear Americas’ laboratory at Swedish Hospital, Denver, Colorado, for the implantation of a new device, the dual-electrode cochlear implant. Dr. Knox is one of only approximately 30 surgeons in the United States trained in this technique. The dual electrode cochlear implant is used in cases where the patient’s cochlea has become ossified (bone growing within it) making conventional cochlear implantation difficult or impossible.
